The Department of Fibres and Textile Processing Technology, ICT Mumbai hosted a free technical workshop on Sustainable Textile Processing in Solapur, Maharashtra. The event brought together MSME stakeholders and industry technicians, aiming to inspire eco-friendly innovation while strengthening ties between ICT and the regional textile hub.

Solapur, celebrated for its heritage in Solapuri Chaddar and Hand Towel production, became the stage for a dialogue on sustainable growth. Participants explored advanced methods designed to save water, reduce energy use, and cut processing time, marking a significant step toward responsible manufacturing. Experts explained the impact of conventional practices on both the environment and human health, offering practical demonstrations that encouraged the industry to move toward cleaner and healthier workplaces.

The initiative was financially supported by Pulcra Chemicals India, adding strength to the cause of sustainable change. Adding further value, Nayak, CEO of Somani Evergreen, joined as Chief Guest, underlining the importance of industry leaders endorsing green practices. The interactive sessions allowed participants to develop practical skills, particularly in eco-friendly dyeing, making the training immediately relevant to their operations.
